Here's what our students, and their parents, say about The Story Studio:
'Tuesdays and Fridays are my favourite days. Tuesday, I'm free after school, and Friday is The Story Studio.' (Derwin, 10)
'It's so encouraging to see Rosie making progress in your writing class.' (Nancy)
'These workshops are exactly what I had hoped they would be. Sharon has a calm, easy manner and really connects with the children. She has created an environment where the kids feel secure and are given the confidence to explore their ideas freely. The classes are full of laughter! It's a brilliant balance of the fun of creative writing whilst instilling correct grammar and punctuation skills. My daughter looks forward to this workshop every week. She doesn't want it to end!' (Kim)
'It's a really fun and creative way to enhance your writing ability without the drag of being in a classroom.' (Rebecca, 13)
'Arthur enjoys the class very much!' (Rolin)
'Evie had a great time at The Story Studio! I will definitely be signing her up again. Many thanks.'
'My daughter came along to try this class a few months ago because some of her friends were doing it. She enjoyed it so much, we had to rearrange her schedule so that she could come along regularly! She loves the creative side and doesn't see it as academic "work" at all. Sharon, you are doing an amazing job to keep kids enthusiastic about writing at an age when they are getting more homework and it could be seen as a chore.' (Jenny)
'Zane loved your class! I was quite worried as it is taking him out of his comfort zone, he is more of a numbers boy, but no issues at all. He might even start enjoy writing!' (Majda)
'It's much better than school!' (William, 9)
'We've enrolled for the next course. Thank you! Mia really enjoyed it, and I can't believe how much she wrote!' (Connie)
'Grace has just started a big writing project at school and the prep work was to be done at home. Not only did she make a plan but she actually used a thesaurus to increase her vocabulary. She wrote down some different descriptive words that she could have on hand to insert as she started writing.'
'Rae thoroughly enjoyed herself today. One of the first things she said to me was, “Mom! We get to go back tomorrow!' (Allison)
'Maya just loves your class. The fact it's a lot of interactive play, giggles and writing makes it so unique. Thanks for sharing your joy with our little ones. Glad I could enroll her for this workshop.'
'Max thoroughly enjoyed himself today!' (Carol)
'Olivia enjoyed your course. She said you were very funny, the kids in the class were fun, and the activities were very interesting.' (Ronnie)
'Walker is a bit reluctant to go before the course starts. However, he felt great and have fun from the first lesson. He is now enjoying every lesson every day. Thanks for your teaching!' (Diane)
'Kimmi is having so much fun ;) She says she enjoys the different tasks that she has to do.' (Miyuki)
'We would like to keep Arjan enrolled with your class. Any and all! Thank you!' (Raj)
'I think that it's a very creative class because we think of funny names and fun things to make them into a story. I'm learning about writing in an exciting way and get to use all of my imagination!! One of my favourite parts is writing the stories and then listening to what the others have written.' (Sophia, 9)
'Paula enjoyed (the first workshop) a lot and showed her written story proudly.' (Ina)
'Grace read us her final story from your last class. We were blown away! It sounded as though it had been written by someone much older!' (Sally)
'Moa really enjoys the classes and her writing is getting really good.' (Annie)
'Serena has demonstrated in her classwork varied writing styles and use of less frequently used vocabularies. She particularly likes the "eat and think" strategy because it makes her thinks better!'
'Thank you for opening this workshop in Tung Chung. Norawee really loves it and is looking forward to every session.' (Rakchanok)
'I received Owen's school report today. You can see he wrote that he 'thinks' his writing is improving (which it has) because he goes to Story Studio . . . You have done wonders for his writing confidence, thank you so much.' (Sophie)
'The feedback from Palmer was outstanding. He loved (the first workshop) as I thought he would. Thanks a lot!' (John)
'Thank you for the assessment, I think it is wonderful how you are developing each child's talents individually. Thank you for all your hard work with our kids!' (Dianna)
'Dane's really enjoying the class. Thanks so much!' (Lori)
'Brilliant. Isabella and Leila both really enjoy it so will definitely do the next course.' (Tracey)
'My daughter has LOVED this. Her teacher commented on how great her writing has become recently!'
'I love looking at Grace's stories each week! She has just finished her short story for school and I can already see an improvement in her vocabulary. She found at least 6 other ways of saying 'said' within her story which is ground breaking!' (Sally)
'It’s very interesting and I collect knowledge. Sharon, our teacher, is funny and very nice to work with.'
'I am delighted that my daughters are not only increasing their vocabulary and stretching their imaginations but that they are happy to do so!!!' (Tracey)
'This has been a fantastic opportunity for my children to further explore story writing outside of the classroom in a fun environment. You have kept their attention and they have thoroughly enjoyed every class with new and interesting tasks each week. I would definitely recommend to others and have enjoyed reading the stories and seeing so much of their written work which is clearly flowing in these classes. I also appreciate the weekly feedback and updates plus the personal touch with individual assessment of each child. I was a little hesitant at first if they would want to attend each week but should not have worried - they absolutely love it!' (Natasha)
'I am learning new ways of using my vocabulary and Sharon is always so enthusiastic.' (Isabella, 12)
